Beautiful Tomorrowland, April 1962

You only get one photo today, my peeps, but it's a doozy. This view of the 1962 Tomorrowland is so swell that I even posted a slightly larger scan of it for you to enjoy. I could point out all of the groovy details, but I'll let you do that yourselves!

For those of you with working time machines, April 1962 would be a good time to go to Disneyland.

Seems the ol flight circle is closed. The cover is on the triangle clock, and it's not out in the center to tell when the next show will be.

During the winter season, Keith Palmer and I were the only ones to run the shows during the week. We both went to collage until noon, and then rushed out to the park to start up the engines at 1:30. On the week ends we worked with a couple of other guys, including Bart Klapinski (national stunt champ) and George Molitor (now a Major in the Civil Air Patrol in AZ). June would bring the summer schedule when the park would be open 7 days a week.

OMG!!! I haven't even read your post yet...that photo just jumped out at me and I exclaimed out loud (much to the chagrin of my fellow cubicle dwellers) "OH MY GAWD!!!!" Ok, now I'll go read your post.

Just plain beautiful. Yes, this is my Tomorrowland as well. Look how clean it is! Wonder what's happening at the little General Dynamics stage?

Great pic Maj! Desktop it goes. *sploot*

What's happnin' at the General Dynamics stage? One of the Yachtsmen's groupie gals has shown up a little early, or late depending on her intentions - we know she's one because she is a little tipsy leanin' on the railing.

I like the guy with the tie middle front. Looks like he's getting the what-for from his ol' lady sitting beside him with the hand on her hip, but him? He's at Disneyland on his day off and by goodness if he's going to let that get him, he's sittin' just as carefree as can be looking ahead, mind far away...

Another Little Girl Doll on the left in white bonnet and yellow dress. Meanwhile behind her, the shiny stainless trash can has swallowed some little kid's drink and his big dad is starting to knock that Tomorrowland trash can into the middle of next week.

In other parts, we have CoxPilot at the Ice Cream stand (just kiddin), some of those crazy feathered caps front left, a congregation massed under the pine tree and an attraction poster I can't recognize...

Chiana: I spent quite a bit of my pay, small as it was, at that ice cream cart. My favorite was the 50-50 bar. It really went down good after a show in the hot sun.

Chiana, you noticed more than I did! I like the way you have a whole story based on people's body language. Have to admit that sometimes I scan or post these in a hurry...
