Tomorrowland Entrance, December 30 1969

I'm so used to seeing pictures of the pre-1967 Tomorrowland with the clock of the World and the Rocket to the Moon, that it is almost a surprise to see this view of the "New Tomorrowland". The metallic façades had an entirely different look compared to the somewhat plain industrial sheds that were there previously. And of course you've got the Peoplemover and the Rocket Jets!

Say, I wonder what the view would be like from one of those Peoplemover cars, looking back this way?

It would look something like this! From this raised viewpoint you can see the playful swirling pattern of yellow flowers, and those futuristic palm trees.

Perfection! Why did they have to change it? Why?

Seriously, this looks like a future I'd love to live in! The current Tomorrowland's do-over can't come soon enough!

I think the lady in the orange coat and aqua hat just came from the Howard Johnson's.

Major, that first picture is perfection. See how the architecture/palms frame the view as you walk into Tomorrowland? Whatever they are going to re-do in this area, this should be the starting point to reclaim it's glory.

K. Martinez.. one word: COMMIES

Rich T, now that I know that the Peoplemover won't be coming back, my hopes for a redone Tomorrowland are considerably lowered.

Melissa, I love that color combination! Makes me happy every time.

Bill, I actually wonder if there are ANY plans at all (even "pie in the sky" plans) for an eventual refurbishment of Tomorrowland? Have you heard anything?
