Classic Fantasyland
Today I am re-sharing some nice photos of Fantasyland! Both of these were originally posted back in 2007.
This first picture (from 1962) is possibly my favorite look at one of the wonderful caterpillar vehicles from the "Alice in Wonderland" dark ride. All of the angles formed by the giant leaves (actually, they're normal-sized, we're small) and the track make for a dynamic composition, and the colors (orange caterpiggle! blue blue sky!) look so great.
This photo (circa 1964) was taken from the Skyway, and the photographer lucked out (or was he/she just that good??) by capturing a Matterhorn bobsled just as it emerged from one of the tunnels. It's in focus and everything! Also, to the left you can see the auras from two ghosts. Some say that on a dark night, the spirits of two construction workers (who fell to their deaths during the building of the Matterhorn - it was hushed up) can still be seen wandering the track.

Wow, that really is the best picture of the Alice ride I've ever seen. And I love that it's two adults in the vehicle, having as great a time as if they were kids.
It's the one picture I've ever seen in my life, though, where I felt that the Skyway in the background took away from the composition rater than adding to it, so I couldn't resist making a version with all blue sky in the background.
These are splendid, a great start to the day. Thank you!

The reason the adults are acting all a-twitter is due to the fact the kids formerly occupying the front seat really did fall 'down the rabbitt hole-!' (Notice the the raised front lap bar...) Hmmmmm.
Nanook, the tandem seating was more fun when I wasn't six feet tall. It got to the point where I would just request a row to myself (they always said "OK"!).

Melissa, it does make for a better picture composition! But even so, I hate to eliminate the Skyway.

Nanook, I wonder WHY that couple didn't want to sit in front?? See, those railings and extra-wide pathways really were necessary.
