Matterhorn, Motor Boat Cruise - July 1962
Here's another slide rescued from decay and discoloration! I like this unusual angle showing the loading area for the Motor Boat Cruise (taken from the Monorail?). The little boats have to putt-putt through some pretty rocky rapids.....I think that all of you readers will agree that the motor boats were one of the most terrifying and dangerous of all the extinct attractions. Thank goodness that they are gone!
Thanks to Disneydutchman who pointed out that I originally posted the photo in reverse. I'm so ashamed!

I like this shot as it looks like a concept drawing with the Matterhron in the background. Very nice.
Motorboats too frightening to consider.
What was dangerous about the Motorboats? I always found them fairly pedestrian...
Awsome Pic Major but its reversed!! No Fantasyland on that side of the mountain!! You're looking West (can see the hotel) so the boats and Fantasyland should be on the right side. Thanks for another great view!! DD
Update on comment. You are looking south in this image not west. The Hotel is on "West" Street. You are looking at the backside of the MotorBoat Cruise sign which is why it looks reversed when the picture is normal. DD
Hey Tangaroa, that was my weak attempt at humor! ;-)
Pedestrian is as good a word as any to describe the boats.
Hey Major-I think my comments may be confusing. Lets try it again. Your picture is reversed. You are looking south in the existing post. The Hotel should be on the right. In your existing post you can read the Motor Boat Cruise sign correctly but it should be reversed because you are standing behind it in this picture. Does any of this make sense??? DD
Disneydutchman, I uploaded a flopped version of the photo after seeing your comment, perhaps you need to refresh this page? The way it looks now, the hotel is to the right and the Matterhorn is on the left, and the Motor Boat Cruise sign looks like it is backwards.
Wow thanks Major!! All is right with the world. Didn't mean to sound smart ass but after reading my own comments I thought they were confusing. You're right-just forgot to hit the refresh. Thanks again for the wonderful pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
