Fantasyland Pix, September 1959

When Walt Disney was dreaming up ideas for Disneyland, it was a tossup between "Fantasyland" and "Creamed Spinachland". Luckily for us, Fantasyland won. True story!

Here's a lovely photo of Sleeping Beauty Castle, looking through some sub-tropical foliage (since the photographer was standing at the entrance to Adventureland). Hmmm, not much more to say about this one...

Sunny day, pirate ship (sails unfurled), pea-soup green water... A+!

And there's li'l Casey Jr. He thought he could, and by gum, he did it!

I want to visit Creamed Spinachland....and Unnecessary Surgeryland!

That shot of the Pirate Ship is a beauty, Major...and the pegleg pirate is even out on the dock in front of the ship!

Top pic: "We made it!"

2nd: it occurs to me that it couldn't have been easy keeping the water from turning into ghastly muck before the waterfalls of Skull Rock to aerate it.

3rd: the Storybook patchwork looks super in that pic. :)

Awesome set, I love that first foliage foto! Pea-soup looks kinda gross in the 2nd pic, and somewhat stagnant - mosquitoes anyone? THANKS MAJOR!
