Parking Lot, 1950s

This photo barely qualifies as a Disneyland image, but I liked it so much that I am sharing it anyway! The lighting is certainly dramatic. Why does the sky look so dark? In the distance, Disneyland is lit by brilliant sunshine. This is pre-Matterhorn, obviously. Anyway, there is something mysterious and (dare I use the word?) magical about this moody photo.

In the foreground, lots of cool 50's cars. Turquoise blue was certainly the "in" color!

i think your instincts serve you well, young padawan...

that's one of the coolest vintage disneyland shots i've ever seen!

such an uncommon capture of such a common experience...wading through the sea of cars to the shores of walt's wonderland!
