Kinda Blurry circa 1957

It's always a bit of a bummer to find blurry slides in a batch, and especially so when the image in question is the Viewliner. But I decided to show this one anyway, because I just love that little train. Don't worry, I have other nice clear photos of the Viewliner to come!

From the same batch, and also blurry, we see the horse that used to be in Frontierland. Presumably a wild horse, he is making sure that all is well in his territory. I'm not sure why this horse (I call him Stormy!) was there for only a short time, but at some point a mountain lion was added - though I don't think the lion was in the same exact place.

A couple of questions.

Is the Tomorrowland Viewliner approaching the Fantasyland Viewliner Station? The background doesn't seem to match the usual shot of the Tomorrowland Viewliner Station.

Where is the tunnel in the second pic? Is it the tunnel between the Frontierland Depot and Indian Village?

Even though the images are blurry, they are great unusual views I haven't seen before.

Any shot of the Viewliner is great (even blurry). I'm always amazed that Bob Gurr cobbled the thing together out of a couple of junkyard Oldsmobiles!!!

Who cares if it's blurry? It's a cool shot and just makes it seem like it's in motion...kinda' like Wigglevision!

In that shot, the horse sort of looks like a llama...maybe the favorite food of mountain lions?

K. Martinez, you asked some good questions… if only I had answers for you! I think (but am not sure) that the Viewlier is approaching the Fantasyland station, and that might be the the roadway for the Junior Autopia to the right. And your guess about the tunnel into the Indian Village is a good one, but again, I'm just not sure. Hopefully a smart reader or two can help out!

Alonzo, I feel the same way, and am always happy to see the Train of the Future. The Monorail was much more spectacular, but I with the Viewliner had survived at least a little bit longer!

Daveland, when you think about it, everything is like wiggle-vision! (??)

Rich T., I don't know about you, but I love a delicious horse for dinner myself once in a while.

I find that the 'Blurry' kinda adds to the excitement of the Viewliner.

I like to imagine the blurriness is because of my tears of joy at seeing Viewliner again.

Blurry-vision better than no-vision.
