Two From October 1975
Here is the last pair of slides from a lot from October 1975.
Our photographer was trying to get a shot of the Matterhorn (and not doing a very good job of it, I'm afraid). But we also got a view of the Peoplemover and a sliver of the entry walls into Tomorrowland.
From Nature's Wonderland, these two coyotes took time out from trying to catch little varmints for food in order to sing for us. Live recordings from the time captured their howls and yips. I still hear coyotes occasionally when I visit my folks in Thousand Oaks (especially when a siren sounds in the distance), and I'm glad they are still around!

Wow, Nature's Wonderland AND the 1967 Tomorrowland together in one post....yes, Disneyland really WAS better back then!
Since I grew up in the heart of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona a lot of MTTNW/BTMRR is familiar to me... and yet not so authentic. I've never seen a coyote that plump and well-nourished. I also find it funny how hardly anyone in movies or attractions can get a saguaro cactus quite right! That one running scene in Forrest Gump is pretty much an insult haha :)
TM!, you are too kind! I know today's photos are rather "blah".
Hannahx2, I've seen coyotes once in a while (generally at night), and they look like they are eating well! Of course, they have plenty of trash cans to raid in LA. And I think that saguaros are mostly shown to cartoony effect in movies. I don't remember a scene in Forrest Gump involving a saguaro...!
If only he took a few steps to the left for the first photograph. Then it would have a good picture.
Has anyone thought about this ?
I have wondered if one day I will be looking at these old photos and I happen to be in one of them. As a kid, we went to Disneyland every summer. That would be strange to see yourself or your parents in the crowd on one of these pictures posted by Major.
See myself when I was a child or a teenager in the crowd from another person's photo collection.
That would really be a coincidence.
OC Native, Major P. posted a pic a few years back and I was 99% sure that my mom was in it. I asked my brother and he was also pretty sure it was her, so we showed it to my mom thinking she would say "That's not me!", but she also thought the person in the pic was her. What are the chances?
Major, I meant what I said this morning! There's nothing blah about these pics!
Well then I guess you'll just have to watch the movie again, won't you? :) I promise they're ridiculous!
TM thats pretty freakin awesome!
I actually like that Tomorrowland pic a lot. What a scene. So Cal palms and flowers... framing the Matterhorn! I kinda had a down day and I tell ya I'd so love to be in that scene.
Hannahx2, I saw Forrest Gump just a few months ago! Maybe I'll find that scene on YouTube.
Chiana, I'm glad to know that the photo cheered you up, even if it was just a little bit. Sometimes it's the little things that make all the difference!
