Freight Train, 1957

Zowie, look at the super saturated color in this first photo showing those rustic freight and cattle cars from the Disneyland and Santa Fe Railroad. One car has a herd of human cattle standing in the open (not even shade for those folks). Christmas ornaments adorn Main Street Station, the very same decorations that could be found on many city light posts and telephone poles back in the fittys.

Here's an unusual angle, again looking at the C.K. Holliday. Can anybody tell where it is? I am guessing that the photographer was aboard a Keel Boat, but maybe not... the "rapids" just on the other side of that peninsula look sort of like the Motor Boat Cruise waters. Anyway, as modest as this photo is, I am thrilled by anything different these days!

Could that body of water in the foreground of the second pic the Tomorrowland Lake? Could this have been taken from the Viewliner? I agree about those rapids looking like the Motor Boat Cruise.

Second photo looks like the early motor boat cruise are to me, but since I wasn't even born yet, who knows!

I'm always intrigued by the Freight Train,... Besides having its own awesome ticket (link) I really would like to have rode in the open car, the unobstructed views must have been amazing.

Yeah, I'm thinkin' that this is Tomorrowland Lake, which would make that Motor Boat Cruise guess work.
