3 From September 1968

Let's start with a mystery! If this slide is indeed from September 1968, how can the Christmas tree already be up? That wouldn't even happen today. So perhaps the slides are in fact from muuuuuch earlier in the year (like, January, daddy-o), and somehow the film wasn't developed for another 8 months. It could happen!

Looky, a flock of delicious, crunchy barracuda! I can't think of anything else to say about this picture. Blue?

The "African Veldt" tableau from the Jungle Cruise resembles the opening scene of "The Lion King" - except that the lions have killed a zebra. Don't feel bad, that zebra was really annoying, always borrowing money and playing his harmonica. Trust me, he deserved to die. All of the other animals are watching the show, just like drivers who enjoy a crash on the 405.

You have your parking lot experts to help narrow photos based on the cars, and Disneyland experts to help based on things in the Park, but maybe you need to start soliciting help from fashion industry experts ("those shoes, manufactured by x, were not sold until 3/21/1968 and were available exclusively in Iowa City, but quickly went out of fashion by June 1970")...or something.

Alert- psychedelic bags being held by the girls in the photograph.

I like how they decorated the guy-wires that hold the tree steady!

Our family film camera had the same issue, when we finally developed the film it was; Christmas photos, then immediately followed by beach photos from the summer, then sometimes back for another Christmas all on the same roll of film!

Neat post, thanks Major!

I can think of something to say about the Sub pic. How the *bleep* do you keep the bottom of that pool swept? ;p

What?! You mean that Zebra is not asleep and being protected by those lions?

Matterhorn, thanks for the bag alert!

I keep hoping someone will post a scan of that paper pattern. What an awesome screen backdrop that would make.

I loved that paper design.

Thanks Major, for all the work.
