More random Tomorrowland...

I'm doing a bit of "housekeeping" on my computer, and have these two slide scans that I've never gotten around to posting. So, seeing as this is the weekend, they are finally getting their chance to shine! The image above is from March, 1963. It's kind of an usual angle from the Monorail track, looking back towards Tomorrowland. This appears to have been taken during one of the zombie attacks of that decade, I don't see a single living guest in the park. Or maybe it was just early in the morning? You can also see HoJo's on the horizon, looking much the way it does today.

This second image is undated, but probably from around 1957/58. It is very similar to another scan that I posted a few weeks ago...because it is from the same lot. The Viewliner track is at the bottom of the photo, and the Autopia looks busy nearby. The Disneyland RR is also visible, is that the Excursion Train? Anyway, not the most exciting pictures you'll ever see, but hopefully of some interest!

I would suggest the top view is from the first Monorail ride in from the Disneyland Hotel in the morning. Probably an early morning entry similar to what Disneyland does now on off season. I love views with no on in them, but also views with lots of people. And don't be so hard on these views, they are nice...and I would be proud to post them!

Hello Major!!!! I can comment again!! For two weeks I have been trying to leave a comment but Bloger refused to recognize my password?? Go figure!! Couldn't post on Daveland either!! Thank so much for all of your posts during that time frame. I very much enjoyed the Monorail with the Kodak pictures closeup - neat stuff, and the Yacht Bar - come on it doesn't get any better!! Hey but hold it a minute - HOJo's - that's the Disneyland Hotel!!!! HA your just pulling our collective legs!! It's nice to be back. DD

Thanks for your nice comments, Matterhorn!

And disneydutchman, I wish I was pulling your leg! For some reason I thought we were looking southeast rather than southwest, and therefore it couldn't be the DH. Then the voices in my head told me that I was being watched by aliens! ;-)

I often write my comments at 1 a.m. or later (despite what the "posted by" date says), so occasionally I am a bit loopy!
