More Last Frontier Casino, Las Vegas

We've visited "Last Frontier Village" in Las Vegas before, and I figured I'd scan my remaining LF  images and share them today.

In my previous post, the giant light-encrusted slipper had not yet been placed atop the Silver Slipper Gambling Hall. No need for giant parking garages, street parking is totally adequate. Check out the cars, gear heads!

Some of you may recall that white hearse, which now sits in front of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion... there it is with the wheels off for some reason. Maybe they're being inflated. A bunch of additional old-timey vehicles can be seen; I wonder why those old slot machines are just sitting in the street?

Brothels are hilarious, as everybody knows, and this one is no exception. Say, there's that silver slipper again.

There's the Frontier Museum Saloon, along with the Trading Post. What wondrous, cheesy souvenirs were available in that humble store? The saloon serves Budweiser (a van delivers a new batch) AND Pabst Blue Ribbon. If only they had Schlitz, it would be like heaven.

Another view of the same stores, from a different lot of photos.

What visit to an old-timey western town would be complete without a funny photo-op? Try to ignore the ghoulish headless torsos.

I still have more Vegas photos to share, but from now on they will be the glitzy real Vegas!

Budweiser "on draught". I don't know whether to laugh or cry-! Of course, there's always Pabst Blue Ribbon - "It's blended... It's splendid"

Budweiser? No way! How about Hamm's (the beer refreshing) or even Black Label?

Whenever I used to look for information about Frontier Village, San Jose on the internet this place would come up in the search.

It looks like it would've been a lot of fun. There is definitely something special about vintage Vegas! As usual, great images.

Major, I enjoy these posts so much!

These are just terrific! The cars are awesome, and the fact that it's referred to as a "village" borders on wholesome, considering what Vegas eventually becomes. You'll find me at the Trading Post, sipping on an ice cold fruit juice...

Major, these are cool. I agree, old Vegas/Reno or even any old Main Street is wonderful. The cars, the signs, the buildings.

I especially love the tie in to the Haunted Mansion. The hearse has never registered with me even though I have been to Disneyland several times since it was installed.

I guess, if I saw it, I assumed it was a Bob Gurr creation like so many other vintage vehicles built to purpose for the Park.

Thank you for brightening my day!

Best regards as always.

Nanook, it seems like most Americans prefer beers like Bud and Coors, no matter how much true beer lovers hate them!

Katella, I would prefer Burgie beer, or Piels!

Rick, thank you again for the info about the hearse!

K. Martinez, I am familiar with San Jose's "Frontier Village"... maybe I should share some photos of a few souvenirs that I have from there. My three siblings used to live so close to Frontier Village, but by the time I knew of its existence, it had already closed.

Connie, I'm glad you like these!

Bill, I think you will really enjoy some of the upcoming Vegas pics that I have, showing the more "classic" town, with neon and bright casinos.

JG, I agree, I always love photos of Main Streets, even in small towns I've never heard of. The Main Street in my dad's home town (Austin, Minnesota) still has a 1930's feel to it even today. It is awesome!

Major, I'd love to see photos of your Frontier Village items! My family used to go there regularly when I was a little kid. It was a fun little park.

Better a Museum Saloon than a Saloon Museum!
