Night Scenes, January 1966

Hey homies! Guess where ol' Major Pepperidge is today? Hint: It starts with "D", and ends with "isneyland". Yes it's true. Meanwhile, I have a few more vintage views from Main Street at night for you.

I can't help but think about the story, "The Little Match Girl" when I see this photo; we are out in the cold and the dark, with nothing to eat but a dirty sock and some old gum. Inside the Plaza Inn, it is warm and inviting, with table after table of happy people feasting on delicious, hot meals. I guess I could just walk through the door and join them, but I like feeling miserable. Because that's how I roll.

Who likes candy?! I wish we were in front of the Turnip Palace instead. You go ahead and eat your devil candy, while I enjoy a plate of mashed turnips and assure my place in heaven.

Oooo, purty. It's like a mini-Las Vegas. I like being able to pick out a few details, such as the Kodak sign, the clock's dimly-lit face, the Crystal Arcade, and Dracula. Just kidding! I didn't mean to scare you. Well, maybe a little.

Nice to know that even in the good old days, there were still blown-out roof lights on Main Street.

I will be headed there after work today, rain or shine!

Now I happen to like turnips, roasted not mashed. And Dracula was not there that night - I should know, we were dating back then.

Major, thanks for the beautiful pics, I do feel like the match seller looking into the Pavilion.

As regards your trip, ride the Canal Boats and:

Best regards.

I stopped by the park last night after work to check out the Halloween decorations, but they were closing in 30 minutes, so I only had enough time to see the Haunted Mansion overlay. I was thinking of going back today after work to ride Ghost Galaxy. If I do, I'll keep my eyes peeled for you and Connie!

These are really wonderful. Little tiny white lights are all well and good but give me big colored Christmas lights like the ones on the tree in the Plaza Inn.
