Train Station Adjacent, July 1963

Today's photos might be fun for some, boring for others. But I kind of like them, in spite of the fact that they are not super exciting! A mother and daughter pose in front of the Mickey floral portrait and Main Street Station (population: 53,000,000). The mass of pink flowers is quite pretty! Sadly there's no train at the station, but the Kalamazoo Handcar is always there.

What did I say about there being no train?? Moments later, a locomotive (the E.P. Ripley?) pulled in hauling the classic yellow cars. This one is the "Painted Desert", not only a Disneyland feature, but a real place that a Santa Fe train could take you. In style.

Hmm. Well, okay. The station looks nice... what we can see of it. And yes, the pink flowers look pretty. Mom's white dress looks vibrant, and the daughter's dress is interesting; sort of a patchwork design. I'M TRYING REALLY HARD TO SEE THE GLASS HALF FULL HERE! ;-) Oh, and the sky is bright blue.
On the left we can see the poster for Iceland; known for their tiki carvings. And on the right there is a poster for the Disney Automat, where you can get soup and sandwiches out of little cubbyholes.
Really, not a bad little picture.

This next one is a 'part picture'. We can see part of the train, part of the station, part of the posters, part of the trees, part of the shrubs, part of the fence... need I go on? It IS a nice view of the train; clear, with bright colors.

For me, these photos were sort of fun, sort of boring. But also, sort of OK. Thanks, Major.

Major-
I'm wondering if 'Sis' is wearing a "Mom-Made" dress-? Those weep hoes are definitely doing their thing, but also causing staining on the asphalt.

As the cumulative attendance numbers seem to indeed indicate 53,000,000, that would place the images some time in early 1966 according to my sources... a 1980 Disneyland document celebrating the 25th anniversary of Disneyland. (I always say who knows, but).

Thanks, Major.

These images are very colorful. Even the green striped wall stains and pink stains, on the pavement area, add extra color. Very pretty….thank you, Major.
