Snoozer Sunday

Here are two rather "blah" images for this Sunday post. Readership plummets on Sunday!

I think we all remember this scene from "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride", when each guest's car goes out of control, crashes through haystacks and fences,  then plunges underwater, only to be attacked by poisonous carnivorous sea turtles with British accents. Blimey!

Here's one of the best loved sights as seen from the Storybook Land Canal Boats. Say, doesn't one of the Three Little Pigs live there? Things don't seem to be going so well for him. Oh well, he can always crash at his brother's pad, though he'll have to put up with a bunch of preachy lectures.

Major-

That 'story' you tell from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride sounds exactly like a dream I once had - except those nasty sea turtles spoke Esperanto-! How did you know-?

I got nothin' on the second image.

Thanks, Major.

Too funny, Major! I see there's a dead settler in front of the little piggy's house. Every building in Storybook Land should have a dead settler in front of it! They could even stuff one into the rabbit hole in the Alice In Wonderland scene.

Mmmmmmm! Pork Roast! My favorite! That and pigs in a blanket.

Thanks, Major.

I thought that first pic was taken during the era of glass-bottom Jungle Cruise launches.

Dean Finder, your comment has caused Doris Day to pop into my head. Now I can't get the song out of my head.

All aboard, all aboard
On the glass bottom boat
It's the greatest show that was ever afloat
Take a ride on the tide with the guide and see
The way out wonders of the deep blue sea

@ Ken-

The deep blue sea
The deep blue sea...

I haven't really thought about those lyrics in a while. (And just where is Arthur Godfrey and his ukulele-?)

Backward, oh backward, turn Time in your flight,
I just thought of the humor I needed last night.

Mr. Martinez posted my big funny line about "roast pork" a mere seven hours before me. I need to stay up later or move to a more Eastern time zone. Good stuff, all.

Nanook, I can’t help thinking about people who bother to learn Esperanto. Might as well learn Kingon or Tolkien’s “Elvish” language!

TokyoMagic!, that’s what Walt was talking about when he mentioned the “hard facts” that built America. Now I REALLY REALLY want a version of Storybook Land with tiny dead bodies in front of the buildings! Especially Arendelle.

K. Martinez, you just reminded me of pigs in a blanket - something I haven’t had for a million years. I’d buy that Pillsbury dough and wrap it around hot dogs. A feast fit for kings!

Scott Lane, I can practically hear it sizzling.

Dean Finder, I’m not sure, but I think there really were early concepts for a glass-bottom boat ride at Disneyland.

K. Martinez, time to go to YouTube - I don’t know that song at all.

Nanook, you and Ken need to form a boy band!

Patrick Devlin, clearly you all grew up reading Bennett Cerf’s Big Book of Pork Jokes.

Major, filling Arendelle with tiny corpses is a fantastic idea, but management would never buy off on it. You need to let it go.

I can just hear Walt saying "Can we get our own Lilliputians? I want dead Lilliputians here!"
