Snoozles™

I have two Snoozles for you today, both a bit dark, though not a total loss. First up is a scan from April 1972, with what appears to be an "off the hip" shot of a Horse Drawn Streetcar. Am I crazy, or are there NO HORSES? That's a first. Were they standing nearby enjoying cigarettes? Guests are patiently waiting inside the streetcar, but four of them are going to have to get out and pull. It's not so much fun now, is it, chumps??

It's exactly one year later (down to the second), on April 1973, and we have a "too dark" photo of the Columbia as it glides mysteriously around the Rivers of America. "Mysteriously" because there are no sails - they're not even furled, they're just gone. Hey, there is a theme today! Maybe the horses took the sails?

Major-
That is quite the 'optical illusion' of invisible horses, but with careful studying, one can see 'ol Paint carefully being obscured by Mr. sweater vest, or just an ugly shirt-?

Thanks, Major.

Ah, Nanook….great observation re Ol’ Paint!
(”Background matching is perhaps the most common camouflage tactic. In background matching, a species conceals itself by resembling its surroundings in coloration, form, or movement. In its simplest form, animals such as deer and squirrels resemble the “earth tones” of their surroundings. Fish such as flounder almost exactly match their speckled seafloor habitats.”)

The horses are there. They're just using the invisible horses from outside the Haunted Mansion. Either that, or the guests have to use their feet like Fred Flintstone. But I bet you're right, the horses are on their cigarette break (union rules).
After zooming in a bit, the horses really are there; at least one of them anyway. Some of the guests are perfectly placed so as to hide the horse's legs. Like you said, the image is a little dark... and the horse is very dark. [Nanook got there first!]

So weird about the Columbia not having any sails at all. I wonder if any of the guests noticed, and asked a CM about it? CM, "Go away kid, ya bother me."

Nanook, I agree about that shirt/sweater.

Not bad, as Snoozles go. Just a little weird. Thanks, Major.
