Snoozles™

Snoozles are a fact of life.

One of the details on the Jungle Cruise that I've always liked a lot is this monumental carved stone head (from a photo date August 1970), part of some ancient Cambodian ruins. Why was this temple abandoned? "Too many boats, man". The face has an enigmatic smile in spite of almost being swallowed by strangler figs in the jungle.

Next, the leaning rocket of Anaheim, circa August, 1962. It's not the worst photo I've seen, but the Dutch angle is odd, and the shadows are very cyan. When I tried to compensate for the cyan, it threw other colors off. I finally gave up. Yes, I cried.

Major-
I always enjoy the Cambodian shrine and lovely to see the 'cameo' in this image.

As for the Douglas rocket image - I guess this is one time when the parallax of many a camera's viewfinder is NOT to blame for the canted subject - nor is the lacking of Disney maintenance.

Thanks, Major.

What we have here is a "Madonna and Child" vignette. You see, the mamma statue has given birth to a baby statue. Soon, the three wise crocs will arrive with gifts for the child. And there will be much rejoicing.
This is a nice picture of the carved stone head. It looks very natural with the sun dappling.

Actually, the camera isn't tilted at all. They lowered the Rocket down to its horizontal position to do away with the exiled TWA paint job, and apply the new-and-improved (paid sponsorship) Douglas paint. Not sure if we're witnessing the Rocket being raised back up into its vertical position or maybe they just misjudged the angle and were off just a bit.
It's a very clear pic, showing lots of detail. But the tippity-top and bottomy-bottom got cut off.

Not bad Snoozles. At least they are in focus! Thanks, Major. (The last DST post of 2026!)

Looking at that Moonliner image is a bit annoying and unsettling...am waiting for it to fall over. I really want to reach out and push it all the way up. Come to think of it -- that picture would make a great Christmas gift for any of your friends with OCD. :op

Thanks, Major.
