IASW Snoozles™, June 1967

Sometimes these Sunday Snoozles™ are SO bad (or dull) that I truly feel guilty sharing them. But not so guilty that I am going to skip them, obviously! Visitors were charmed by the fanciful topiaries in front of It's a Small World, and today's photographer certainly was. "That bush looks just like an elephant!", he cackled. The boys on his bowling team will get a laugh out of it, if he knows them (and he does).

It looks like that giraffe needs more time to fill in, but it will do. I won't storm into City Hall and demand my money back. THIS time. I like the gold details on the façade of this ride, they remind me of the boxes full of die-cut, embossed Valentine's Day decorations that my mom had when I was a kid. In fact she still has them! I wonder if Rolly Crump used things like that when mocking up the model that he built?

Identical to those embossed, die-cut Valentine's Day "cards" that came in wax paper sleeves, rather than envelopes, so kids in grammar school could pass them out to their classmates.

Thanks, Major.

Major, I definitely would not consider these Snoozles. They’re unique angle shots of our beloved iasw — and perhaps taken by the Ant family you introduced us to, a while back.

Thanks for these sunny Sunday non-Snoozles, Major.

This is a perfectly cromulent (to borrow a word from Chuck and the Simpsons) photo of the furry green elephant. His vegetable-based fur has grown in nicely. But not so much that it would make him look overly shaggy. And it's well lit, too. The highlights bring out the details of his shape. Would've been nicer if the camera was a little lower so that the elephant was higher up in the photo, but maybe that wasn't possible from where the photographer was standing.

The un-filled-in giraffe's head looks like a dragon-shaped figurehead on the bow of a Viking ship. Probably a Norwegian Green giraffe, pinin' for the fjords. Not sure what the main focus of this picture is. The giraffe? The upside-down elephant? (or is it a hippo?). Maybe it's the Small World facade? Or the blue sky? All of the above?

I have to agree with Sue; these don't belong in the Snoozle folder. A bit dull and overly familiar perhaps, but not bad enough to be Sunday Snoozles. Perhaps you were suffering from a bad case of jaded ennui when you put this post together. :-p

Here I am, criticising you for posting decent pictures on a Sunday... What is the world coming to? ;-)
Thanks, Major.
