Two From July, 1958

Here's a pair from the Summer of 1958, starting with this nice one taken by somebody who'd hiked to the top of Holiday Hill (without supplemental oxygen). Say! The view is pretty swell! We get a nice panorama looking toward Sleeping Beauty Castle, with some green awnings to the left that were outside the Monsanto House of the Future. The stacks of the Mark Twain can be seen, and way in the distance is the Holidayland tent.

Next, we're aboard one of the river craft, perhaps a Keelboat? We're low in the water, but our photographer could have been seated at the bow of the Mark Twain of course. The Canoe loading docks are to the left, and a Raft to Tom Sawyer Island is just returning to the mainland. The Indian Village looks busy!

Major-
That shot from Holiday Hill - (aka: Echo Mountain; Mount Disneyland; Snow Mountain; Lookout Mountain; and even Valterhorn-!) is quite lovely.

Thanks, Major.

This is a nice aerial view from the soon-to-be icy slopes of the future Matterhorn. We haven't seen very many pictures from atop Holiday Hill. What is that yellow and black thing with the pennant flying overhead on the right?

In the second pic, this must've been pre-AED; not an exploding duck in sight! Maybe a couple of other birds, but no ducks. Animatronics, especially the exploding kind, were still in their infancy.

Thanks, Major.

I was wondering the same thing. As we can see the 'parapet' above the Mr. Toad show building, and even though the colors don't really work, I'm thinking it's the "finial assembly" atop Fan 2...

It's interesting to see a raft approaching or leaving the Indian Village dock. I think some of the early maps even have that dock labeled as "Indian Village Rafts."

Thanks, Major!
