Red Wagon Inn & Plaza Pavilion, 1957

When it was time to eat at Disneyland, you could grab a burger at the Tomorrowland Terrace or one of the small window service Fantasyland eateries. Or you could head back to the hub and enjoy a nice lunch, with waiters and waitresses who brought your food to you while you let your aching feet rest.

I think I would have gone to the Red Wagon Inn myself...

... although the Plaza Pavilion would have been pretty nice too!

Graceful days, that bottom pic.

Lookie thar. Another example of underside of umbrella print, albeit Main St. floral themed instead of Fantasyland character themed.

Yeah... I think, flip a coin. I might pic the Red Wagon Inn myself. Even if I had a paper hat on.

Wow, Chiana. I didn't even notice that fabric until I read your comment! It seems like there was much more detail back then that we just don't see in the park these days.

Arguably, one of the better people watching spots in the park. I remember that it was my dads favorite place in the park to just eat and rest on a long day. And; yes ther was more attention to detail back in the early days and for a while after Walt's passing. Sadly missing in todays park.

Always good to see Red Wagon Stuff - most photos out there are after the Plaza Inn transition.

the very first thing we ever did at Disneyland was eat dinner at the Plaza Inn...

we arrived at the Park at about 4p that first day and we were starving, having flown in from the east coast, so it was already 7pm for us. i remember reading about how much Walt like that place and ate there, so it was kinda cool to know that we might have been sitting where he had once

Anyone know a link to a menu from the Red Wagon Inn?

As I recall, there was not really a printed menu. It was on the wall when you ordered in line. However, there was a souvenir children's menu:

Here’s a Red Wagon Inn menu courtesy of our friend Matterhorn1959: Red Wagon Inn MenuThe Plaza Inn (formerly Red Wagon Inn) is still a nice place to eat. I had a very enjoyable lunch there on my last Disneyland visit.

I have two different Red Wagon Inn menus, I'll dig 'em out and maybe post them!
