December, 1976 - Hudson Brothers In Fantasyland
I found these first two photos to be interesting; they show the Hudson Brothers playing on the Small World Stage in Fantasyland. As a kid, I remember the The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show on Saturday mornings (1974 - 1975). Looking on Wikipedia, I see that they'd previously had a prime-time TV series that was a popular summer replacement for The Sonny and Cher Show. Today's photos are from 1976 when they had a number of singles on the Billboard Top 100 charts.
The Hudson name lives on thanks to the fame of band member Bill Hudson's daughter, actress Kate Hudson ("Almost Famous"), from his marriage to Goldie Hawn. While viewing these scans, I had the feeling that I'd seen something about the Hudson Brothers at Disneyland in a brochure.
This brochure!

Major-
I was never much of a fan of the Hudson Brothers. And with only six charted hits - their top one peaking at #21 (in 1974) - not a bad accomplishment; but as these thing go, not high enough to sustain a great career. (I couldn't play my way out of a paper bag, so I'm in no position to talk).
I should note in 1976, they had only one charted hit [their last] on Billboard's Top 100 Chart, topping out #70...
Nice brochure.
Thanks, Major.
I remember the "Hudson Brothers" name from back then but I don't recall anything about them, or their show, even though I think I watched it. Oh well.
It's nice that they have one of the goofy-looking reindeer on the cover. This brochure (Bro! Sure!) [frat boys agreeing with each other] was well done (as opposed to rare... or maybe it IS rare?). Nice illustrations and informative. I like the hanging ornaments and the rounded decorative corners.
Do they still have musical events like this? Probably not because, you know... TRE. Maybe they still have the occasional in-house musical group?
Thank you, Major.
Hooray for Fantasy On Parade! The following year, the parade was reworked and renamed, "The Very Merry Christmas Parade." But then several years later, it was changed back to "Fantasy On Parade." Just FYI!
I remember watching the Hudson Brothers nighttime variety show, but I don't remember watching their Saturday morning show. I was probably watching cartoons on another network. Or maybe Sigmund and the Sea Monsters. Bill Hudson and Goldie Hawn are also the parents of actor, Oliver Hudson.
I hope the Solid Gold Dancers came out on stage and performed at the same time that Marilyn McCoo was singing.
Thank you, Major!
Really enjoyed reading this post! A decorative showpiece can instantly add charm and personality to any room. I love how a single artistic accent can completely transform the feel of a space. I recently explored FableCasa’s collection, and their decorative showpieces are thoughtfully designed and full of character — perfect for elevating modern home décor!
