Golden Horseshoe Revue, July 1964
I never saw the original Golden Horseshoe Revue with Wally Boag, Betty Taylor, and the rest of that legendary company. Such a shame, because I could have. My family was all about the rides, I guess. Anyway, here are two vintage photos of the show, plus a little something extra. There's Betty Taylor (was she supposed to be Slue Foot Sue?) looking smashing in her red dress. She is flanked by two extremely cute dancers with 1000-watt smiles.
Just for fun, here's a photo of four cuties from the Revue (from the Fall 1965 issue of "Backstage Disneyland"), I suspect that the two blondes who are seated are the ones seen in the first image. From left to right their names are: Karen Le Mone, Gail Shamel, Joan Johnson, and Marita Valentine. Va-va-voom!
And lastly, here's Wally Boag in a not-very-clear photo. He's doing what he did best - - hamming it up. Hard to tell, but it looks like he's imitating Little Orphan Annie (with her blunked-out eyes).

Thanks for the GHS photos! Yes, Betty Taylor played Slue Fot Sue in the Pecos Bill number (featuring the world famous tooth-spitting routine performed by the comic as Pecos Bill). The red dress was worn for the 'production number' she sang with the late Fulton Burley at mid-show; as Slue Foot she'd appear in a short white skirt with white boots, red shirt and white fringed vest. Cute!!!
And that is not Wally Boag 'hamming it up'... it's Wally's replacement (first at DL, then at WDW) the late Bert Henry.
Thanks for the great info, anon. I am very surprised that Wally Boag had a replacement! I do know that he went to WDW for a few years and came back, but this photo is from long before that. Then again I suppose that even Mr. Boag needed days off!
Hey Major -
Do you have any shots looking toward the GHR bar area? There are some artifacts there we'd like to get confirmation on. If you do, we'd love to see them. Thanks! And thanks for posting these!
Daveland has a ton of photos of the interior of the Golden Horseshoe. Anything you want confirmed will be confirmed there!

I do have a couple of interior shots from around the bar area...I'll have to dig 'em out of wherever they are. Merlinsguy is right, daveland has a lot of very nice GHR interiors!
It would appear that "anonymous" has butchered my shots with no credit or thanks and used them for his ebay sale.
Dave -
Ebay seller 'dugalaxy' may have butchered your shots and used them without thanks, but the 'anonymous' post above had nothing to do with it. We should know, we asked the original question about bar shots above - and have no interest in ebay.
Wow, that was a lousy thing for someone to do, and I'm glad Anonymous is not guilty.
