I just love this early view of Main Street. I'm guessing it's a morning shot? The colors on the various buildings are wonderful. This was another undated slide, but look at those boys in the foreground with their greased back hair a la Elvis Presley. It seems to be a pretty safe bet that this is from the 50's. As always, any observations from you (the knowledgeable viewer!) are encouraged.
Oh wow, another vintage Disneyland photo blog! Too cool! Great to have another one. :D
ReplyDeleteWhat is really interesting here is that sign that reads, "Disneyland Ride Ticket Books on Call here..." I thought you could only buy ticket books from the kiosks?
ReplyDeleteGreat info, deadpan! I always envy people who were able to visit the park in its early days (I didn't go until the latter part of the 60's and mostly in the 70's). I recently met a lady who used to serve Walt in the morning at the Hills Bros. Coffee House, which is pretty cool.
ReplyDeleteI hate to admit that I don't have anything to do on a Friday night but if anyone asks, I can just say I had a date "with a Major"....LOL
ReplyDeleteSo I've started poking around your blog, going back to the very beginning and I'm loving it!
