Fantasyland and Frontierland

Here are two scans from a lot that only consisted of this pair. But they're worth a look.

First up is this fun one with two ladies excited to see Pinocchio. He looks as if he was caught by surprise. For some reason I'm imagining that both women are from Italy, they have a fun 60s European vibe - I'll bet they were extras in "Love Italian Style". Henry Mancini go-go music could be heard whenever they were nearby. Or… they lived in Fullerton. The woman in pink (with the crop top) probably got a lot of looks!

Two photos could hardly be more different, but that's how it goes. This one is from the Mine Train Through Nature's Wonderland, we're passing through the mysterious Saguaro Forest. A recent (and rare) rain has caused the saguaros to bloom. Saguaros can live up to 150 years, or even more! Sometimes they take on strange shapes, and sometimes they talk to me.

That's a cute picture of Pinocchio and the gals. Wasn't there a story about that bench we can see behind the pink gal?? I recall something was mentioned in the past, on this blog...anyone recall?

I love that simple tree-line on the berm.

Thanks, Major.

I can tell Pinocchio is embarrassed because his cheeks are flushed. I think he's deliberately averting his eyes from Miss Croptop lest his eyes meander where they shouldn't go. The little crew cut kid on the left is impatiently waiting for the ladies to finish conversing with Pinoke so he can have his turn. I get the impression that the CM inside the costume is a guy, not sure why. Seems like it's usually a gal? I'd love to explore inside the Tinker Bell Toy Shop.

This is a nice crisp picture of the cacti. I think I spot the one that looks like a skeleton hand. Sue mentioned the trees on top of the berm; they're planted equidistant like a row of corn in a vegetable garden. In a couple more years they won't look anything like that!

Sue, yes, we did discuss that colorful bench. But I can't recall the story either.

Nice pics, Major. Thanks.

I've never noticed that little blue pirate painted above the arch of the Tinker Bell Toy Shop. It doesn't really look like Captain Hook, since he is dressed all in blue, is wearing a different hat, and appears to have a peg leg. I'm also trying to figure out what that little painted banner says. "Something"- Pirate? "Public Pirate"?

Thanks, Major!
