SNOOZLES™
Sometimes I wonder aloud, "Why must there be Snoozles™?". Yes, the other people on the bus look at me funny, but I don't care. Then I watched an episode of "Davy and Goliath" and realized that even Snoozles™ have their place in this world.
Today's first example (from September, 1965) would be a nice photo if it had been done right. The Ernest S. Marsh is filling the tender up with chocolate milk (I don't want to brag, but I am very knowledgeable about trains), which is pretty cool. But the sun backlit the scene, and everything is too dark. And it's blurry.
Next we head to September, 1970 for a look at one of the Motor Boats. The boat is in Fantasyland, but you can clearly see right into Tomorrowland, thanks to one-a them folds in time/space that you read about all the time. I generally like photos of the MoBos, but this one gets a C-minus with a "See me after class" note (in red ink!).
NOTE: Tomorrow and Tuesday I will be at a certain amusement park! Obviously those will both be busy days, so I'm going to be taking a break from the comments, but there will (of course) be new posts for you both days, and I look forward to chatting with you all on Wednesday!

IMDB says about Davy and Goliath that it's "charmingly crude". Well, I agree with the crude part but, like you, I think "snoozlingly" works better than "charmingly". I've only seen a couple of episodes, back in the day, and that was enough.
It's nice to know that Disney trains generate their steam with chocolate milk (Major's encyclopedic knowledge comes through again!). I think the sugar would give the engine a little extra oomph. I don't mind the darkness of the photo but there's too much blur. The photographer should have adjusted the blur setting on his camera.
Forget AEDs, there's a shark heading straight for that yeller boat! We can see its dorsal fin slicing through the choppy water! And the people in the boat are completely oblivious to the approaching danger! Wake up, sheeple!
Can someone refresh my memory? When did the MoBos disappear? This photo is from 1970; I thought they went away in 1967 when the new Tomorrowland debuted.

JB, the Motor Boat Cruise closed in 1993. Management's lame excuse was because they needed to redirect the budget (and cast members) for the attraction, over to the brand new Toontown.

Most people are unaware of the energy potential of chocolate milk.
I can’t quite read the name on the motorboat (if I squint I can make it either Robin Hood or possibly Rabid Hound, both well-known characters from Disney films produced before 1970), but I believe the subs from left to right are the George Washington, Nautilus, and Triton.
I always liked Davey and Goliath. Simple, gentle, and in some ways like Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood. Plus I was always fascinated by the animation. They were one of those dim, early-childhood memories of before-church Sunday morning TV until I found a few DVDs in the bargain bin at Walmart when my boys were small. We enjoyed watching them together, although by the time they were about 6 they were too slow-paced for them. They felt the same way about Thunderbirds. You have no idea what a headache it is to legally disown children.
Fun fact - Ginny Tyler, the adult Mouseketeer from the early syndicated run of The Mickey Mouse Club and the narrator for many Disneyland story records, voiced both Davey’s mom and sister. She also voiced Gumby, which was produced by the same company. Paul Frees also did voices for Davey and Goliath, although he never came to any of my birthday parties.
In defense of photo 1, the sun angle is difficult for most of the day at that spot.
I can’t excuse the weird angle or bad focus, but if I had too much chocolate milk, I’d be unfocused too.
Photo 2 has the potential to be a great photo except for the Vaseline filter. Looks like a close-up of the heroine in Star Trek.

It's a real shame that the EPA banned chocolate milk as fuel. Though the small of the used fryer oil biodiesel that Disney uses today has a pleasant scent and helps sales of french fries.
My mom felt watching Davey and Goliath on Sunday morning was an acceptable substitute for Sunday School. I think I came out ahead on that one. All of the episodes are up on youtube now as restored versions. The Christmas episode is oddly similar to the Charlie Brown special, considering they came out the same year.
I’m actually loving this low angle across the choppy seas of the (mostly lame) Motor Boat Cruise, navigating some serious submarine traffic…are there four of them out there? A Monorail and/or PeopleMover would do wonders for this shot!, At least we got a blue Skyway bucket; and no CM wading out with hooks to tow our yellow sailors back to dock (….yet). What an exciting place.
