Last two from October 3 1956

I should have titled this post "Ho-hum Sunday", because these are some hella boring pictures.

Even though we are looking at part of Tom Sawyer Island and (in the distance) the shoreline of Frontierland, there really isn't much to see except for some scrawny trees and a deserted dock. I think Cascade Peak would be built along that distant shore in just two years.

These ladies got all blurry. I do like the fearsome carved masks that line the bridge into Adventureland, but there's not much else to love about this picture.

What I love about the Adventureland image is that there is not one single tree in it. Just a few weeds. It's a nice unusual pic. Thanks, Major.

@K. Martinez - well back then, it was still mostly an Asphalt Jungle... plus, I think Tilda and Hermione would object to being called a couple of weeds. ;)

Tom Sawyer's Island looks like an adventure land there. I see a raft, dock fer fishin', cave entrance and what seems a ways off, a huge oooold wooden fort!

Okay I also see a barren hillside and telephone poles, but it ain't perfect now either.

Fun tiki-mask-ish shields, massive nasty spears and grisly human skulls impaled on poles. Now that's a welcome to Adventureland.

Major, I see that net in the water that you were talking about recently. Are those fish in the water just to the left of the net?

I've looked at that picture of the dock for ten minutes, and I still can't find the dessert.

@ Chuck-

It's Pineapple Upside-down Cake - the most elusive member of the dessert family.

@ Nanook - Found it. Had to turn the monitor over to see it. Thanks for the hint!

I bet those ladies were fairly blurry in their everyday lives.
