Dapper Couple at Disneyland, 1956
Today's photos are repeats, originally posted years ago. I rescanned them and re-jiggered them (since they were very magenta and grainy), and I loved the starring couple so much that I figured they were worth another look. Plus, maybe it's "new to you"! Here's the first one, with a dapper couple about to board the classic yellow passenger cars of the Disneyland & Santa Fe Railroad.
A jaunty fedora really makes all the difference, doesn't it? Somehow I don't think it would work as well on me, though. That guy's wife seems to think he's pretty swell!
And, just because it goes with the previous picture, here is a Jungle Cruise boat returning from its harrowing trip. The cast member in the foreground (ex-Secret Service?) is surreptitiously giving us the evil eye.
(Just a note... I will be out of town this week, so I might not be able to respond to comments until the evening on most days. But I will definitely read and respond to them!)

If you didn't know the first picture was taken at Disneyland, it could easily have been mistaken for an actual train and many years prior to 1956. Life imitates art.
The early jungle with dirt showing!
Secret service guy needs to hike his pants up a little more.
It must have been nice going to the park in those early days. Everyone seemed to be dressed nice and took their time as there were much fewer attractions to see.
Now it's rush to cram in as many attractions as you can via your smart phone app. as it costing you about $500 a day or more for the family (if you are out of towners like us). Not to mention the lack of dress code. Sheesh.
Very nice pictures.
Black Shirt CM isn't speaking to Red Shirt CM.
It's as if mr. black has casually stomped on a nest of barking spiders and then mr. red is warning his guests to prepare for it as they pass by.
What a handsome looking couple.
Alonzo P Hawk - Thanks for the laugh!!
After looking at that third slide, I suddenly have the urge to watch an episode of "Jonny Quest."
Nanook, yes it's true... that's part of what makes it so great!
fuzzhead, don't worry, each year the guy's pants went up one inch.
Alonzo, the only reason I wish I had an annual pass is so that I could go to the park for maybe two or three days in a row (staying at a nearby hotel) so that I could take my time and relax!
Melissa, I sense that Black Shirt's feelings have been hurt.
Alonzo, I have no idea if there is such a thing as barking spiders, but if there is, I want some.
K. Martinez, dressing better is another thing I might do if I went to the park more often. As it is, comfort is the main goal.
Chuck, watch out for that walking eyeball thingy!
Walking eyeball? Beware the eyes that march!
Can't tell if that's Harry Anderson from "Night Court" or Alton Brown from "Good Eats" in those pics
It's gotta be Harry Anderson.
I remember these from the first post, especially Mr. Black. He is an odd duck, are we sure he is a CM? Seems out of character and style?
Thanks for the repeat, Major, always worth re-seeing.
JG
It's Harry Anderson as Alton Brown in "The Tim Gunn Story."
