Town Square, 1957

This lovely lady is the epitome of the ideal 50's woman. Just look at her! She's about to board the Omnibus, but there's always time for another picture to show to the folks back home. To the right, and mom accents her attire with a souvenir straw skimmer, and has a bag full of goodies. I think (but can't be sure) that her little girl is wearing a pair of mouse ears, too. Notice the sign for Liberty Street; I can't help wondering what it would have been like!

If we turn our noggins to the left, we can see the Disneyland band making an entrance. Vesey Walker is in the lead, and it's safe to assume that they are all heading to the flagpole for the evening flag retreat ceremony. Nothing much else to say about it except that Town Square looks pretty swell!

Great shots! Late afternoon sunlight on what looks like a warm fall day. And the famous "Liberty Street Opening 1958" sign! Excellent.

haha yes i love that sign as well! i wonder where it is today? and i wonder if we will ever see liberty street? im guessing no, but some sort of tribute should be done on the anniversary of Walt's birth or death or opening of the park. some important date ya know?

The first photo really is a nice shot of 1950s Town Square. I wish there were some photos of Bob Gurr driving that Omnibus down the Santa Ana Freeway...

Well the lights are on at the Maxwell House, so we can go have some coffee and discuss the latest on the Street, or mosey on over and see the band. Looking smart, they are!

Very cute little girl. A future shopper in the making. ;)

Lovely sun & color.
