Arriving at Disneyland, August 1961
There's a lot going on in this photo, with the tram full of people, the Monorail speeding overhead, the Disneyland Railroad with the bright yellow passenger cars, and so on. Love those posters on the Monorail pylons! I can almost feel the August sun beating down, but as a kid there was no place I'd rather be.

I love the speed of the monorail as shown by its slight blurriness. Some of the best photographs are parking lot shots.
Yes, I do too...ordinarily I consider blurriness a drag, but in this case, it makes that Monorail look extra speedy.
I was there, don't remember exactly what date, but I was a 10 year old girl from Montreal, Canada and I spent the month of August 1961 in California with my mom, first with my aunt and uncle in San Francisco, then with my mom's old school chum in Los Angeles. We spent one amazing, whirlwind day in Disneyland that I will never forget!
