Upjohn

Here is a fun photo of what I believe to be the interior of the Emporium, circa 1958. Where are all the plush toys, antenna toppers, magnets, pins, and lightup thingamajiggers? The small boy is entranced by a classic Japanese toy robot (how much would that be worth today?), while the man to the left is purchasing some sort of Mickey Mouse toy. There is a sign on the wall that says "The Upjohn Company something something", does anybody know the full text?

Notice the boy's squeaky Donald Duck hat...I have one just like it from my childhood. There is another picture of the kid wearing it on a swingset, possibly from the next day?

Wow! Rare shot of the interior of The Upjohn Pharmacy, actually...
The sign says 'The Upjohn Company Founded 1886', I believe.

No, not the inside of the Upjohn Pharmacy. That wall is the back (west) wall of Upjohn. That counter was in the middle of the hall. Just to the right was the old book store.

The last word on the sign was probably 'show'. Upjohn had a small walk-thru display, very dark with large backlit transparencies, which I believe had something to do with the human cell. There was a free postcard-sized pamphlet about the display available in the store.

Ackshully, now that I look at it again, Tangaroa is right about the sign.

No wonder he's the Father of all Gods & Goddesses...
