Here's a pair of Leftuggies™ for you - left over, but still worth a taste!
First up, from April, 1972 we have the west tunnel entry into Town Square, with the Ernest S. Marsh overhead. A tour guide strolls through as if she was just a normal person, and not a superstar! Such humility is inspiring. As a die-hard collector of vintage Disneyland postcards, I am drawn to that postcard rack to the left of the guide. I am assuming that the camera that captured this image had a cheap plastic lens (Kodak Instamatic?), it leaves a lot to be desired.
Next is the last photo from a batch of 1974 slides, this time we get a pretty good look at New Orleans Square, with that wonderful wrought iron. The folks upstairs sure love their flowers! The Blue Bayou is behind our striped temptress, I finally had a chance to eat there a while ago, and my jambalaya was pretty tasty. If expensive! The Jolly Roger flying above the rooftops is probably just for laughs, there can't possibly be any pirates in Disneyland.

Hmmmm.... I don't seem to be having an issue. I can see that half of the rack has 'squeakers'; and then there's a complete set of the concept art 'pre-opening' post cards. Don't I see an Alice In Wonderland, Upside-Down? room post card-? And isn't that Walt pointing at Adventureland "... one of the most glamorous lands of his Magic Kingdom"-?? (Maybe it's time for new glasses...)

Major, either a cheap plastic lens... or a cow licked the lens. Old, wrinkly actresses would love this lens effect. No fine details!
Using the people as sundials, it looks like it's about midday. C'mon, no time to waste! Things to do, things to see!
The temptress' shopping bag looks like something she herself brought into the Park. Although, if I use my imagination, there might be a few 'Mickeys' mixed in with the flowers in the design.
That's little Damien to the left. He's being led around by his nanny, and he doesn't like it. And we know what happens to Damien's nannies. He's telling his nanny, "I've been on the Haunted Mansion only 665 times. I need to go on it one more time!"
This is an excellent picture of NOS; the lighting brings out all the details.
Major, are you sure that's a Jolly Roger above the rooftops? It looks kinda strange for a skull and crossbones... OK, I just googled it; I'm pretty sure it's the state flag of Louisiana, which would make sense.

The bag that lady is holding is just like the kind that my great-grandmother would carry....and just like the one she used to bring her fried chicken into Disneyland. I think I've mentioned it before, but I have one of her bags and it's hanging in my garage. Since it's plastic, I'm afraid to due much with it, for fear of it cracking or tearing. But whenever I focus in on it hanging there, I think of my great-grandmother......and her fried chicken. It might be the very bag that she brought with her on our DL trip.

Two pics from the Best Decade of Disneyland.
That first photo has that Desilu studios soft focus, like they used on Susan Denburg in Star Trek “Mudd’s Women”. There, a lateral ILL reference.
Major, not only are there pirates in Disneyland, they are now in charge, shamelessly ransacking their guests’ savings accounts.
That lady looks like one of my Moms friends. They all dressed like that, gaudy clothes, giant satchel purse, and the same shoes.
Two finely themed trash cans too.

Nanook, you mentioned some good cards! And you’re right, I could ID some squeakers as well. Man, if only I could grab a whole handful of the Upside-down room postcards! I do have one (or possibly two), but I’m greedy.
JB, I don’t know why Walt wanted cows out in front of his park, but he did. And who am I to argue? I think the lady’s bag is from elsewhere, but if you are seeing “hidden Mickeys”, you have been well brainwashed! Ha ha, you’re right, it’s not the Jolly Roger - someday I will learn to write my blog posts without just looking at the 2.5” thumbnail. BUT TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY!
TokyoMagic!, I love that your great-grandmother brought fried chicken into the park. I’m surprised that she wasn’t tossed out along with the hippies! “Sorry ma’am, you have to buy your food inside the park”. Folks entering the gates wondered why that nice lady was eating fried chicken with all those hippies.
TokyoMagic!, as I’ve said before, I’m glad I never make mistakes.
JG, “Star Trek” did love to use that soft focus. I always think of Edith Keeler, but it was used for so many ladies. And of course there was that loopy music that played when Kirk saw an especially foxy chick! You know, with the falsetto female voices. Good point about the pirates. They are wearing business suits, so they aren’t so obvious. I think that we all had grannies (or friends of grannies) who looked like that lady!
Stu29573, even now, I still get a feeling when I walk through New Orleans Square - sort of an echo of how I felt when I was a kid, but it’s enough!
WOW, the stripey lady with the flowered bag isn't taking any chances of being lost in a crowd, is she? I believe that's Jolly Roger's lesser-known cousin, Jovial Rodney. He never lets the good times get out of hand. Yo ho ho and a bottle of milk.

Those Fairgrounds are famous for their 'whole hand suckling'-! I believe it's a selling point.
Melissa, personally I like to wear one of my many orange shirts to help me stand out. It seems to work! Jovial Rodney is a good fellow, instead of pillaging a town, he only litters a bit. A calf sucked your whole hand into his mouth? Yuck!

Orange is one of my favorite colors … but unfortunately blondes do not go well with orange or yellow.
