Murkety Murk
It's time for some Sunday murk - brought to you by Frankenberry cereal (from General Mills).
How about some "You Are There" views of the Jungle Cruise? That's me trying to turn these "blah" photos into something interesting! How is it working so far?
It must be monsoon season - perhaps the torrential rains have caused the river to flood, engulfing those mysterious Cambodian ruins. Just a few klicks upriver, a former colonel is supposed to have gone crazy.
Why take a photo of bathing elephants, enraged hippos, dancing headhunters, bull elephants, rhinos, or giraffes, when you can take a picture of random dead tree trunks?

Major-
Well, at least the "random dead tree trunks" are in-focus; that, as opposed to the well-focused backs-of-heads superimposed in front of out-of-focus scenery. (I'm just feeling a bit snarky this early AM).
Thanks, Major.
The second pic is pretty awesome and reminiscent of the scary forest scene in "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". I half expect the dead tree trunks to come alive with root legs and branch arms grabbing at us. Those tree trunks floating in water along the bank will soon become crocodiles just like in Snow White. Thanks, Major.
For some reason, the tabs on the canopy look like a long row of uvulas.
I remember Willie the Operatic Whale had a triple uvula that allowed him to sing in three separate voices; tenor, baritone and base.
Nanook, maybe the photographer of backs-of-heads was trying to prove how well Brylcream worked? WILL a little dab actually do ya??
K. Martinez, for some reason I always especially liked the logs in the water that turn into crocodiles - the way they bob and move was pretty cool for a 1937 animated film!
Melissa, uvulas were invented by cartoonists. Prior to the 1920’s, they did not exist.
K. Martinez, I thought of Willie the Whale too!
These photos emphasize a truism I learned from my trip up the Nung River - never get off the boat, especially if you want some mangoes. Now that's a Jungle Cruise overlay I wouldn't mind seeing.
For those of you who tossed and turned all night, wondering where an Indiana cement factory might have been located on a river called Lake Erie, check yesterday's comments.
Nanook, I love your new profile photo. The feather says it all.
I'm guessing that's Alice in the background?
@ Chuck-
Yes, it is. Thanks.
"I love the smell of Jungle Cruise in the morning...smells like Disneyland! I am loving these snaps, so there is nothing interesting, so there are no significant pics, it's the thought that counts, right? Great stuff today, it's all about the experience, if no one took log pics, we wouldn't have 'em. Thanks to the Mr Major for today's photos.
These pics look Dark and Stormy.
