Adventureland & Frontierland, July 1963

Back in 1963 you could ride the Skyway for an elevated view of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland; even the Matterhorn bobsleds provided a pretty good view. But the western side of the park didn't have many options. Tom's Treehouse on Tom Sawyer Island used to the the highest point in the park - the tree wasn't that tall, but it was up on a hill top. I wonder if the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse (where today's photo was taken) was taller? There's not a lot to see here other than the Matterhorn and a few rooftops (including the top of the House of the Future). Is that palm tree in the lower right one of the Dominguez palms?

And here's a nice late-afternoon view of the Columbia, isn't it pretty?
