Instamatix
Oh boy, more instmatics!
Our first images is kind of fun, showing a very crowded Main Street during a daytime parade. The Seven Dwarfs are making the scene, daddy-o. Goofy is either next to a balloon vendor or has taken up the profession because himself. Besides the "people watching" (no babushkas as far as I can tell), it is nice to see the store fronts across the street. As usual, this image is undated, but at least we know what time it was!
I happen to know that even today, my friend "Mr. X" has a true fondness for the old Nature's Wonderland attraction; and that goes for the trains themselves. It sort of looks like that father and son (to the left) are heading over to take a closer look at the locomotive. Maybe we can see Jenny Lind (The Swedish Nightingale) at the Opera House later!
And finally, here's a closer-than-usual shot of the sculptures at the Snow White Grotto. Only four of the Dwarfs are visible. I highly recommend going over to the "Filmic Light - Snow White Archive" blog to read a fascinating history of the sculptures seen here. You will probably learn something new!

Major-
Once again - great shots. I thought I was gonna be able to date, at least, the Main Street, U.S.A. pic, but that was not to be. But as the Upjohn Pharmacy shop was still on Main Street, the image couldn't be any later than September, 1970.
Thanks.
Instamatics make for instant smiles here on a Friday morning...
Anytime I get to see any part of Rainbow Ridge is a good day. And I am also now thirsty for some orange juice ;-)
Thanks for the nice pictures today!
Love the Main Street photo.
Nanook - And I'll narrow it down a little more and add that the Main Street U.S.A. pic couldn't be any earlier than July 31, 1960 due to the Sunkist Citrus House. I was trying to guess by the fashion and hairstyles, but I'm not good at that kind of thing.
I'm going to guess this was taken between 1964-66, based on the hairstyles (the women's in particular) and clothing. The uniform of the soldier in the lower left isn't helpful as that uniform was current from 1956-1985, although his extremely short hair probably places the photo at any time before about 1967-68.
I love the dad holding the two boys in the lower center of the shot and the little girl in the flowered jacket on somebody's shoulders to the soldier's left. And dig Snow White's hairdo - no apparent cast member wigs here.
As always, thanks for sharing!
Nanook, it's going to kill me when these Instamatics run out. Fortunately, there are over 100 to go!
Nancy, as long as it's fresh-squeezed orange juice, I agree with you! I was spoiled by having a grandma with a grove of 30 orange trees on her property.
K. Martinez, this is definitely not pre-1960... see my comment to Chuck!
Chuck, your guess is probably pretty close… I would say 1965 to 1966… I'll ask "Mr. X" if he remembers, though he likely does not. That soldier looks like he is standing at attention! At ease. And while I am not crazy about parades in general, I often like pictures of them!
@Major - Awesome to hear you have 100 Instamatics still to go. I look forward to them.
@Chuck - Thanks for narrowing it down even further. I can kind of guess fashion and style by the decade, but to a specific year I'm clueless. I've learn so much from GDB readers.
Wow, that's some tall hair on the redhead in the foreground of the first picture. She must be trying to cheat the height requirement on the Matterhorn.
I spy Mr. Smee and Capt Hook too.
The date was October 20, 1966.......and I completely made that up! Still, it had to be a cooler month. Look at the sweaters and jackets...
