Knott's Wagons, October 1967

I admit that today's Knott's photos are kind of boring, which is why I am posting them on a Sunday. Blogger stats show that readership goes down on Sundays!

Someone has parked a conestoga wagon over near the Marshal's office, I hope they don't get a ticket.

Things look pretty sleepy over at the Covered Wagon Camp. Maybe the Wagonmasters didn't perform in the off season?

Another pic of the empty wagon camp. See, I told you these were boring!

I promise that the next Knott's images will be better.

  5. Hmmm, I'm trying to get my bearings in that first pic. I'm not sure where this was located, but I'm feeling too lazy right now to get out a vintage map and search for the Marshal's Office. I don't think that building is still standing.....and I'm not sure about the building next to it. I'm lost, Major! But I do like these Knott's pics. I remember the days when the parking lot was visible just on the other side of the Wagon Camp....before the new entrance was built.

  6. That's a mighty fine first shot, Major. To help you get your bearings, TokyoMagic, the front of Jeffries Barn is to your right - out of frame. And you are correct, these buildings are gone now.

If the wagon was removed from the shot, we'd get a great - and rare glimpse - of the old 'explosives bunker'!

  7. Dennis, thanks for your nice comments, and Merry Christmas to you too!

    Michelle, you are very welcome!

Debbie V., I LOVE that smell...

Chuck, it's true, the park does look very deserted!

TokyoMagic!, you know the park so well, I wouldn't be able to help. Fortunately, "outsidetheberm" knows old Knott's like the back of his hand!

    outsidetheberm, thanks for the info!

  8. A-ha! Thank you, OTB! I kind of recognized the building on the far right, but it was the Marshal's Office that was throwing me off.
