Wiggle Vision Extravaganza
You can have your Panavision, and Vistavision, and even your Circlevision... I prefer the brain-splitting splendiferousness of Wiggle Vision! Today I have three animated gifs made from stereo slides, just for you. If you happen to be more sensitive to the these "moving" pictures, you might want to skip GDB and come back tomorrow. I'll understand!
First the regular non-wiggly version of this great shot of the Douglas moon rocket...
... and here's the wiggly version! I made about 10 animated gifs from various slides, with varying degrees of success. Some of them just look strangely rubbery. But this one gives a pretty decent 3-D illusion, in my opinion.
Check out this wonderful shot of the Hall of Chemistry!
While this animated gif has some of that strange stretchy "elasticity" that I mentioned before, it still has pretty nice depth to it.
Monsanto again, this time with their all plastic, all fantastic House of the Future.
Wiggle, darn you, wiggle like you've never wiggled before!
I know some of you won't be digging the animated gifs (for understandable reasons), so let me know if you'd like to see more or if this is more than enough!

For my money, I'd say Keep Wiggling. Thanks, Major, for creating such depth from the 'flat' images.
More! More! :)
Seriously, Major, I love Wigglevision! Not only do these gifs work incredibly well and look amazing, there's something wonderfully theme-parky about them!
Plus, it's fun to see the Matterhorn dancing the Twist!
I'd be curious to see a Wiggling watermark.
Other than that, I relly like the color and signage in the "Hall of Chemistry" pic.
We wants the Wiggle!
I vote for more Wiggle Vision, Major! In that last pic, I almost expect to see a bobsled pass by one of the openings on the Matterhorn.
Wiggle on, please – these are great!
Since you offer both a regular, non-wiggle shot as well, it should be all right by everyone. Another option is to put up both sides and leave the present or future viewer to use whatever works for them. Certainly I enjoy 'em, so I'll be happy to see more. :)
I spy the Cox Showtimes sign in the top pic. The House of the Future looks discreet in the 3rd pic sitting with its small footprint among the shrubbery.
There are no stationary stores in the Wriggly Building.
I give them an 8.5 (on the Richter scale).
Bring 'em on! The more the better. You get a real sense of size and depth with the wiggle vision pictures, like you're really there, moving your head back and forth like a lunatic.
Nanook, alright, I'll do a few more and see how they turn out! I've had a few failures that won't be appearing here… the results were just too odd.
Rich T., I still wish that I could make these turn out a bit better, but they are trickier than one might expect.
K. Martinez, I thought about putting in a watermark, but decided against it as it caused a number or problems.
Graffer, OK!
TokyoMagic!, if ONLY I could make that happen…
Pegleg Pete, I will rock on AND wiggle on!
Chiana, I can do the cross-eyed thing, but find it difficult, which is why I don't present the stereo pairs that way. Plus I like the novelty of wiggle vision.
Melissa, what about Piggly Wriggly?
HBG2, 8.5 at the very least!
Tom, I had hoped that these would give a bit of a "you are there" quality, since the 3-D effect is definitely unusual.
Major, I'm sure a watermark would cause problems, but I'm curious to see what a "Wiggle-Vision" failure looks like. I like seeing things in their experimental stage.
I approve. MOAR PLZ!
Major, I'm not a big fan of the wigglers, but as Chiana says, the still photos are there too.
So wiggle on, say I.
Best regards.
JG
AWESOME!!
For extra fun, put each frame of the GIF side-by-side and give 'em the old Magic Eye: instant-3D!
The animated .gifs really did give them a 3D appearance. I'd say do more of them. I liked them.
That's pretty cool! Please do more of them.
