House of the Future, May 1963
Once in a while it is fun to be able to do a "callback' to a previous post; let's do it today!
Some of you may remember this little girl, from a photo taken in May, 1956. She was posing with her family while wearing her souvenir hat from the Carnation Corner.
Well, here she is seven years later. Isn't she cute? I'm going out on a limb and guessing that blue is her favorite color. That boy does not appear in any of the 1956 photos, so I don't think he's her brother. School chum? Cousin? Boyfriend? They are both wearing souvenir hats; I wouldn't mind having one of those Panama-style fedoras.
We also get a terrific view of the Monsanto House of the Future, with the castle in the background (not to mention lots of lovely landscaping). There are a couple of choice attraction posters, and I love the Monsanto sign.

this is so cool....and I want her purse! those are hard to come by nowadays in good condition, and i am pleased to say that I have 2, tho not a white one.
love that view of the HOTF, different than we normally see. I am with you on the sign, Major. I have to say that I think this is one of my favorite pics ever posted here. give me a sunny day....
Oh I remember that pic! And the girl in it. How ever did you come by two pics of the same person at DL years apart?
Agree with Nancy. There's something to the pic with the couple. Plus it's a cheery, sunny image. :)
They look uncannily like the 1962 models of Barbie and Ken.

Looks like she was trying to do the rabbit ears/antenna thing behind the guy's head, but wasn't tall enough to reach above his hat and do it subtly.
I agree....there's just something about this photo. :-)
P.S. I know this question is asked from time to time....but where is this couple today???
Nancy, ha ha, I didn't even notice that she had a purse. I'm all about the ostrich feather hat!
Chiana, I bought all of the pictures in one go, but it took me that long to get around to scanning the later pix!
Melissa, maybe she looks more like Barbie's sister "Skipper"?
TM!, you are right, she is too darn short! I have a few more of this girl and her pal. And who knows what happened to them; I hope they are alive and happy!
I bet you as soon as the picture was taken, the lady in the hat began to sing "Hello, Dolly."
Meanwhile, husband on the her left began to ponder if the House of the Future could take him to the future.
I could be wrong.
That later photo somehow captures a special feeling Disneyland had then.
