Sleeping Beauty Castle, September 1963

Ho hum, more pictures of Sleeping Beauty Castle! I love it as a thing, but photos of it do get repetitive...

Still, this first one interests me because of the park-like grassy areas in front that are long gone... they sure gave that area a different effect.

    Connie, these are from September 1963. Hmmm "gotolo", I'm not sure what to make of that, but I'll assume it's a compliment!

    I notice that no one is on the lawn... Wonder if it was ok for a guest to stretch out for a nice long nap if they liked? Or would they have been shoo'd along?

    More great pics of a bygone era. I remember those lawns (yea, I'm old). Does anyone know when they were removed?

    Terrific composition in picture 1, sadly missing today.

    Major, the "Eyvind Earle" reference is both funny and perceptive, so stop it! You're making me look bad.

    Today's security word is agindomp, which I think is a German pastry.

    A Snow White Sanctum, I'm sure they would discourage folks from eating on the grass!

    Ha ha, walterworld (as a followup to the Snow White Sancum's reply), maybe that is why they removed the grass! It was too inviting.

    Rusty, I have so many photos of the castle that I could probably narrow it down, but I am way too lazy, and just a little bit ungspho.

    Katella, I wouldn't mind if there was more Eyvind Earle at the parks these days! Agindomp was the site of one of the fiercest battles in WWI, I think.
