Hey looky, it's a li'l plastic Mark Twain in a li'l plastic bottle! It's resting on a blue marshmallow blob. This cheesy item is probably from the late 1960's or the 1970's; it was cheap, and I really like it! (The glued-on end of the bottle says "Walt Disney Productions" on it, in case you were wondering).
Months ago I posted photos of some metal "tip trays" featuring Main Street vehicles. Here's another one that I just got, with the lovable and infrugable Omnibus.
I love pinback buttons, and I love postcards, and this souvenir combines them both. This giant button (about 6 inches across) has a lenticular postcard (those are the kind that have a 3-D effect when you wiggle them) affixed to it. There were 3 other lenticular cards in this set, so I can only assume that there were 3 other buttons too.
Here's the back of the thing, for those of you who are curious...

these are so nice! i am beginning to think see your house looks a bit like mine.
ReplyDeletethe little ship in the bottle is one of those fun things that i would have bought as a kid. i love the blue/green color of the tray and it looks to be in pretty good shape.
that pinback is very cool....i have never seen one like it before. my pinback button collection is from EPCOT Center, and I have nothing that looks even remotely like yours.
the one thing that bugs me just a little about their souvenirs is that there are no years printed on them.
thanks for more great stuff! :-)
I love the ship! I guess I'll have some thing else to search e-bay for now lol!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw that ship in a bottle, I had the strange sensation that we may have had one of those on our refrigerator. Also, that pinback button the AWESOME! Now, that design is one I've never seen.
ReplyDeleteLove the tip tray, and would not mind having a collection of something like those.
ReplyDeleteI would assume, though, those trays are worth something. But they are odd enough that only a few collectors would want them. I always appreciated the more odder stuff anyways
I really like the Mark Twain in the bottle. Now I have something new to obsess over until I find one!
