It's time for yet another half-baked post. Things have been busy busy busy lately!
Here's the Mark Twain (you knew that already), with a fully-loaded raft in the foreground. To the left is a sliver of the Plantation House, and Fowler's Harbor. Just visible over the top of the steamboat is Tom's Treehouse.
Every time I see the Mark Twain leaving the dock, I wish I was on board!
Me too.
ReplyDeleteDo my eyes deceive me, or is the cast member steering the raft actually barefoot in true Tom Sawyer style? That's awesome if he is and also testament to what must have been a less uptight park environment back in the day ... or maybe he's just a bad boy renegade (like Tom Sawyer)! ... or maybe I just can't see right.
ReplyDeleteWow anonymous, you have some sharp eyes! I wonder if that cast member is actually wearing some sort of flip-flops? I'd be more worried about people stepping on my toes than stepping on something sharp!
ReplyDeleteUnique perspective for those pics. Love the little hill planted with flowers (roses?) that the Plantation House dining area is on.
ReplyDeleteYes anonymous the cast member driving the rafts is barefoot. There are other images out there showing the same thing. This is of course way before OSHA was even created and safety at that time was the responsibility of the employee much more than the employer.
