Matterhorn Bobsleds, 1962
Here's a fun group of slides featuring the mighty Matterhorn! My favorite is the first one, mom (or dad) managed to capture the kids as they sped past, and the look of joy on their faces is great! You can't really tell because she's facing away from us, but the girl with the pony tail in the middle is the same girl we met in this photo. We'll see her again soon!

ReplyDeleteMan to go back into time and ride single sled bobsleds again would be a dream of mine. There is just something so cool about the single sleds. Thanks for posting Matterhorn images, they are always a great thing to see!
ReplyDeleteThe green wall is actually the Monorail track as it comes swooping close to the mountain.
The bobsled in the first pic looks a bit like a cross between a rocket ship, a low rider coversion of a '50s classic and a classic pleasure boat. It's a pleasure to ride it too. I agree with Matterhorn1959 there's something neato about the single sled.
