Today's Feature: The Letter "C"!

All of today's images are from August, 1960.

"C" is for "Canoe"! A canoe is a narrow, keelless boat with pointed ends, propelled by a paddle or paddles. There are two of them in this picture, side by side. They're racing!

"C" is for "Cascade Peak", which was pretty new in 1960. If you look carefully at the top, you can see one of the short-lived animatronic mountain goats. You can also see the pack mules!

"C" is for "Castle", a large building or group of buildings fortified against attack with thick walls, battlements, towers, and in many cases a moat. Yep, that about sums it up! This is an unusual oblique view, really lovely. It would be even better if the castle was painted in garish shades of peach, pink, and baby blue.

I am glad that they are still running the canoes. It was great to see them this past March.

That little wooden building to the left of the canoes is SO cool. I LOVE how it's right on the water. I don't think it exists any more, but I could be wrong. Is it the restroom?

spajadigit, that little wooden building is the bathrooms. Or was. I don't know now, since the piratification of the place. Could be where they keep their spare stripey socks!
