Disneyland circa 1970, part 1

More 1970's goodness is in store for you today. The lot that these scans are from had a number of pictures featuring this woman, she doesn't seem to be enjoying herself very much. Could this have been a date that wasn't going well? I hope that she was just camera-shy, for her companion's sake. It's hard not to wonder what was going on though! And it's hard to ignore that guy's stripey shorts, too.

There she is again! Maybe they both came directly from a funeral? Note that the restaurant is no longer sponsored by Chicken of the Sea...they jumped ship (ha ha) in 1969.

I hope our girl isn't thinking about jumping; here's what it looks like from her point of view.

More 70's stuff tomorrow!

That first pic is sweet! Too bad the photographer didn’t focus on the ticket prices instead of her sour-puss face! Maybe she thought that line was too long, that’s a dream line today! Nice shorts on the guys, I think I had a pair of those that the kid has on! Great series, thanks.

v.d.t., I will see if I can zoom in on the ticket prices on the original scan...the slide was slightly oversized, so it might be clear enough.

OMG, thanks so much for these pics! I love all things vintage Disneyland and all your lovely vintage pics, but I do have a special place in my heart for the Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship. I am old enough to have some vague memories but no photos, unfortunately. Thanks for all work you do, and all the pics you show us!
