Mr. Worm Visits Disneyland, 1973
One day, Mr. and Mrs. Worm decided to visit Disneyland with their three children (Fern, Ned, and Boris). They stayed at the Disneyland Hotel the day before, enjoying one of the charming garden rooms, relaxing by the Olympic-size pool, and eating an early dinner at the Coffee Shop. You can be sure that Mrs. Worm did some preemptive Christmas shopping. And even though worms don't have eyes, Mr. Worm brought his camera long. It seems unusual, but you just never know with worms.
A castle picture?! Well of course, it's practically required that every guest take a photo of Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mr. Worm knew it, and actually stood on a handy rock to get this elevated view (elevated for him, that is). Magnificent!
Boris actually took this photo (while his dad was in the Little Worm's Room); he is quite a scamp, but he shows some talent with a camera. Too bad there is not a single bobsled or climber present; though it's possible that there is a worm up there (with a red Tyrolean hat) that we humans can't detect.

Major-
I'm guessing those backlit spires of the Sleeping Beauty Castle looked much brighter in-person - even to those eyeless worms. It's all the camera's fault.
Thanks, Major.
Ah, but there IS a bobsled present! It's just to the right of the top of the waterfall. We can even see a bit of a rider's head. I like both of these pics, and this era for the park.....with the exception of Carousel of Progress and the Pack Mules closing that year. Even in 1973, TRE!
Thanks, Major!
The dark and dreary Castle does look rather striking. And it would be an excellent reference picture for someone building a model of SB Castle, and wanting to see the details in the uppermost tower. Mr. Worm shoulda asked another guest to toss him high into the air to snap this photo. Of course, when he came back down, the Killer Swans would've been waiting for him.
It's a beautiful picture of the Matterhorn, framed by that deep azure sky. (Thanks, Boris!) And I think there actually IS a Bobsled up there to the right of the waterfall. (TM! beat me to it!) Looks like there is someone in it with their arm hanging onto the railing/grip thingy. We also see Tink's zipline; but no Tink.
I wanna see more of the Worm family's pics! Thanks, Major.
Strangely, I took that exact shot of the castle as a nighttime shot...it's a much more interesting perspective when you are there, but the photo does not give the same impression...although, from a historic viewpoint: the details of construction are very clear. I didn't really understand how delicate the metalwork was: that must have cost a fortune. I don't see a dent, but I rarely do. I need to get my bearings on the photographers viewpoint on the Matterhorn. I am thinking he is on "Kidney Boy Alley"....I have to check out other photos...at first I thought it was "Sub Walkway"....but after a few seconds, that didn't make sense. The white bark on the very tall pine deserves some investigation into it's genus. I would like to see this same photo of the Matterhorn, in the same light except with the Christmas star on to of it. Would we all think today that the star was garish and another piece of bling not needed, and that it "ruined" the Matterhorn? Sometimes, I think TRE may be subjective...although that star was very impressive. I don't think it's up there with putting a carsland in Frontierland. Just saying. Are these Snoozles(tm) or Wormals? At first I thought the photos actually came from "Family Worm", and someone has to have that last name! Thanks Major.
I’m surprised ‘they’ haven’t added a turret/spire cell tower to the castle—or pine tree cell tower to the Matterhorn, yet.
Get all the money you can!
I would love to see more pictures from this family’s trip…thanks, Major.
