We were there the last day Skyway operated and the next day after that. Only we didn’t know it was the last day, otherwise we would’ve ridden it all night long. Anyway, we showed up the next day and they were completely gone! I mean, not even a trace of them from what I recall. I remember looking around, and we couldn’t even find the concrete footings. I was kind of in shock! We asked a few cast members and they told us it was only temporary, but later on in the week a friend told me they were gone forever, and how Mickey was the very last “person” to ride it. I can’t even tell you how disappointed I was that we didn’t ride it that last night.Monkey Cage Kurthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14416939013314956531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-47024899323914581362015-12-27T15:25:33.551-08:002015-12-27T15:25:33.551-08:00I do seem to remember a garden hedge planted aroun...I do seem to remember a garden hedge planted around the Mr. Toad tower. The center may even be showing those pebbles (which I think were painted white). Such a trivial little thing, but I wanted to make sure that I wasn't imagining the whole thing! Those photos of the Fantasyland construction almost seem to have something blocking the base of the tower. I don't remember the tower by Mr. Toad necessarily having the concrete foundation (it may have), but I really remember the one by Casey Jr. having it. I looked through some of my books and found this pic. It isn't super clear, but the square concrete base can be seen. Fantasyland - 1979TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-53982226947275339332015-12-27T11:30:34.623-08:002015-12-27T11:30:34.623-08:00TokyoMagic!, Here's New Fantasyland under con...TokyoMagic!, Here's New Fantasyland under construction and there appears to be no concrete bases in Fantasyland.
