I do remember riding the Skyway a few times over the years when the lagoon was drained. Unfortunately, I never took pics....I'm not sure why! Has the lagoon been drained yet for a rehab since Nemo moved in?

TokyoMagic!https://www.blogger.com/profile/16340756514811789233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-47738557965660955442013-11-11T14:04:21.556-08:002013-11-11T14:04:21.556-08:00enjoying the Monorail Yellow sighting :-)

Once went thru Space Mountain at WDW on the Peoplemover when the lights were on :( I did take a picture but it just felt weirdNancyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09895614694411482044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-12273617093913623992013-11-11T13:13:38.569-08:002013-11-11T13:13:38.569-08:00That's quite a buildup on the one sub. Still, I'm not sure it matters that much - and it looked better with the water in place. Like you, I've never seen the River drained, though it would be interesting to see.

Melissa, I agree - as a kid I would have wanted to Monorail to stop. But it just keeps going. I guess the landscape did look a bit alien. It has a reddish "Mars" tint in these photos. The mermaids were probably on hiatus anyway, since these photos are from chilly February!

Bill, I thought maybe the mermaids used something like ArmorAll to keep their tales shiny and new.
Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-53947865151699059542013-11-11T07:20:00.114-08:002013-11-11T07:20:00.114-08:00Melissa raises a good point...do we know where the...Melissa raises a good point...do we know where the Mermaids went when their cholorine-faded tails needed refurbishment?

I'm guessing Red Lobster?

Bill in DenverAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-2227427393787057232013-11-11T06:52:40.879-08:002013-11-11T06:52:40.879-08:00They could have at least put some bathtubs around ...They could have at least put some bathtubs around with mermaids in them, just to give the punters something to look at!Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06169920944565828337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-25032701158625450432013-11-11T06:51:38.477-08:002013-11-11T06:51:38.477-08:00That must have been quite a view from the Monorail...That must have been quite a view from the Monorail! It's hard to tell from this perspective: did it look like an alien landscape, or like just another Earthbound construction site?Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06169920944565828337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-21766021273416980592013-11-11T00:24:11.164-08:002013-11-11T00:24:11.164-08:00The first image with the rockwork backdrop sort of...The first image with the rockwork backdrop sort of reminds me of the Living Desert section in Nature's Wonderland.

I've seen all bodies of water drained at Disneyland at one time or another with the exception of the Rivers of America. It's amazing how the atmosphere and feel of an entire area can change because of the removal or lack of water. I always enjoy images of the drained Submarine lagoon. Thanks!K.
