The skyway also I believe. I don't recall other closures, but the monorail stood out because my grandfather wanted to ride and it was his first trip. Turned out to be his only trip. Of course, we didnt know that at the time :-(

The car windows were partly open, with a mid-rail, I think. I dont know what "Mark" those were.

JGAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-55214555805901884582013-01-07T13:16:55.720-08:002013-01-07T13:16:55.720-08:00Nanook, thanks! Once the Monorail was elongated, it definitely became sleeker and cooler.

Debbie V., not only is it blue, but Tyd-D-Bol also keeps the lagoon April fresh!

Melissa, I remember when I first saw photos of the Mark I, with people's arms sticking out of the windows…. did the Monorail stop running when it rains?
Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-24108308172184891432013-01-07T08:42:07.084-08:002013-01-07T08:42:07.084-08:00OMG you could hang out the window of the Monorail?...OMG you could hang out the window of the Monorail?!?Melissahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06169920944565828337noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-47078854512892647962013-01-07T05:51:14.609-08:002013-01-07T05:51:14.609-08:00Look how blue that water is!Look how blue that water is!Debbie V.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04318603077035734786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-24099093023222251942013-01-07T00:34:32.341-08:002013-01-07T00:34:32.341-08:00The Mark I monorails always looked a bit odd to me...The Mark I monorails always looked a bit odd to me. My favorite version is the Mark III.

I like how you can clearly see the Fantasyland Autopia bridge that divides the Motor Boat Cruise waterway and Submarine Lagoon. Can't get that view today as it's half covered by newer rockwork created for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and the overgrown vegetation. I miss these open vistas.K.
