Depending on the size of your group, you would have the park all to yourself, or it would be shared with other companies.

Some time (most-likely) in the late 80's or early 90's, I attended a private party where the attendance was estimated to be 10,000, but only about 7,500 folks actually showed-up. You can just imagine how sparsely-populated the park was that night-! I'm not exaggerating in the least when stating I stood in Town Square looking towards the Sleeping Beauty Castle and probably spied not more than three or four people walking around Main Street-! Good times, undoubtedly lost forever.Nanookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07255357829181568172noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-47271435547384121652016-03-25T09:08:46.599-07:002016-03-25T09:08:46.599-07:00Although…

The cool thing was you didn’t need any tickets. The park would close around 6PM, the paying guests would exit the park at that point, and then the union members and their families would have the entire park until about midnight. Dad was WAY TOO frugal to be paying for Disneyland himself, but I was very happy to have had that once a year experience, even if it was only for about six hours.
Monkey Cage Kurthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14416939013314956531noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-12101690865038135092016-03-25T09:01:58.905-07:002016-03-25T09:01:58.905-07:00TokyoMagic! Judy has Pluto by the tail and he's still being a good sport.

Unlimited ride use was much better back in the days you could put it to good use. Our last trip we got 10 attractions in before the crowds and fatigue kicked in. At $100 (gate)thats $10 to hear yo-ho-yo-ho up close and personal. Alas the park of our youth is gone, gone, gone. I’ll bet Patrick got another couple of years out of those jeans with those spare inches of denim.

TokyoMagic!, at least his socks match, unlike mine. Thanks for pointing out the Frankenstein’s monster mask… my brother and I always wanted to see the masks in the Magic Shop!

Patrick Devlin, now we are used to going on whatever ride we want as much as we want, but I remember on “Navy Nights” not needing ticket books, and it seemed awesome at the time. Now I miss the tickets!

Chuck, those costumes are similar to the Dwarf and the 3 Little Pigs costumes; I can’t imagine not being able to use the arms; at some point any of those characters could trip and go down, and then they’d be stuck like a turtle on its back. I guess a passing cast member would have to help. I must have missed the comment (somehow) about the cast member being pushed into the moat!! Was that on GDB?!

PS, I really am about to leave town right now. Just thought I'd check in while I still could.Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-43178112114875028682016-03-25T05:31:45.669-07:002016-03-25T05:31:45.669-07:00I love the angle on that first one. It manages to capture the excitement and flavor of the entrance plaza without actually showing the MS train station.

That Mickey costume must have been awkward to wear. The cast member's head appears to be inside the top hat (note the screen material panel in the front of the hat band), and they wouldn't be able to use their arms. No wonder the former cast member who commented several days ago about being pushed into the moat in a Mickey costume during that era needed help being pulled out.

As always, these are a fun bunch, Devlins.
