Although the scenes were designed by WED/WDI, they were actually fabricated by DISPLAY AND EXHIBIT CO. They no longer exist, but once held offices in Los Angela as well as New York. The figures in those models were hand carved from white oak. Hedges were cut from rubber upholstry padding and grass was made from velor cloth and then painted!! The roof thatching on the "tiki-boathouse" was fabricated from cord......all the models were 1/2" scale (1/2 of an inch equals a foot)MIKE COZARThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03616421722228113410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-21680165128090538862010-03-31T20:44:00.306-07:002010-03-31T20:44:00.306-07:00Ha ha, I can't even see that sign, much less r...Ha ha, I can't even see that sign, much less read it!Major Pepperidgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09843598326995116014noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-46723814218580585622010-03-31T19:40:21.791-07:002010-03-31T19:40:21.791-07:00Really enjoying those miniatures. I remember the models were OK to look at, but the best part was that the foyer was air conditioned, a real plus after some of those waits in the sun and humidity.

The best, of course, was yet to come...Bill Cotterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08919421524103940589noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25922463.post-86114048021497552712010-03-30T07:14:11.871-07:002010-03-30T07:14:11.871-07:00I can never get enough of "THE FAIR" The...I can never get enough of "THE FAIR" These shots are beautiful.
