Matterhorn, April 1962

Boy howdy, I sure have had a lot of pictures of the Matterhorn lately. It has to be one of the most-photographed objects in the world, don't you think? Please do some exhaustive research and get back to me with the results. Behind that colorful fence you can see some Storybook Land canal boats in storage.

There's the concrete mountain again, with the Monsanto Home of the Future peeking out. Plenty of guests are milling around the hub, and you can see some additional chair set beside the benches to our left. Was this for a parade?

No I have preliminary reports that Lindsey Lohan revealed the current diameter of her thigh and one thousand of the paparazzi that happen to live around her snapped more camera shutters than have shuttered in the general direction of the Matterhorn in 50 years. Of course you know which is the one that matters.

I like the 2nd pic, lots o' pipples. Girls were still dressed like living dolls in '62 I see. Hm yeah it's busy and all the seating. Parade? Special event? Until that time machine is fixed we may never know.

Incidentally is that poster (2nd pic, in front of HOF) the one for America the Beautiful?

1st photo is an unusual angle - I like it!

"Girls were still dressed like living dolls in '62 I see" so true.... Look how clean cut every one is too - not anything like what you see today...

Thanks for the Concrete Mountain photos!

Yes Chiana, that is the ATB poster.

Let's find someone that can fix that time machine! Is Rod Taylor still alive?

TokyoMagic is right, that is the America the Beautiful poster.

And TokyoMagic, Rod Taylor is still alive! He had a small part in "Inglorious Basterds", though he is nearly unrecognizable.
